Portugal is the third most peaceful country in the world

Portugal rose two positions over the previous year and reached the world podium. Portugal stands out alongside Kosovo and Norway as one of the countries where the perception of the acceptance of migrants has grown more.

 

Despite this performance, Portugal is among the countries in which the perceptions of security between men and women are more disparate - above 22 percentage points of difference. In terms of international politics, Portugal appears as one of the three countries in which the perception of American leadership has deteriorated more - alongside Belgium and Norway. A fall that exceeds 40 percentage points.

 

Iceland and New Zealand stand firm in the first and second positions of the index of the most peaceful countries at the global level drawn up by the Institute of Economy and Peace.

 

Already the neighboring Spain is only for 32nd place in the list, having dropped three positions within a year and France slips two places to the 60th
